10 Water Infusions for Better Hydration

IT IS HOT AF THIS SUMMER!

Okay, is it just me, or is everyone else feeling like their skin has been melting off this summer? We have seen mid to high 90’s in Colorado the last couple of weeks almost every dang day, and your girl is starting to feel it — you must be too, right? Colorado summers can be drying for just about everything; the grass, our hair, our skin, and pretty much everything else on the body. Hellooo hydration! Getting in your water is important every day, but in this heat? Oh, you better be watching that Nalgene usage!

If you’re like me, you don’t get enough water to drink during the day. 100% guilty over here! Running around at work, busting a sweat just getting between my workout to my workday, and all the other hub-bub that comes in between, I am lucky if I even remember to bring a water bottle with me for the day. Your day look like that too? Well we aren’t alone, most people don’t get enough to drink during the day — or enough WATER. Sure, coffee habit give us some hydration, but those delicious coffee beans can actually dehydrate us a little bit, meaning we need more water than we do coffee (shocking recommendation… I know).

One of the BIGGEST complaints I hear when talking to clients about getting in enough water during the day, is how darn boring water is! People either think it’s tasteless or don’t like the taste… Then there’s those unicorns (like me!) who really crave water and find it refreshing! If you’re not into the flavor/non-flavor of water, I’ve got some quenching ways to mix up that routine and keep you sippin’ on that water all day long! For those of you out there like me, keep listening, this is for you too! A little flavor never hurt anybody, especially when it also seeps a little bit of those vitamins and minerals we keep hearing about into our daily glass of H2O.

I’ve put together 10 different water infusions (aka, tossing in a couple fruits, veggies, and/or herbs into that water bottle) to add a little flavor to your hydration game! There is a little something for everyone on this list. Like those herbal teas? Try some herbal water! Rather die than stick rosemary in your glass? Don’t worry, I have some classic citrus combos in here too. Give it a try! You’ll forget you’re drinking water at all… Or it’ll at least give you that spa vibe all day long!
